Job Description:
Assist members in achieving and maintaining a quality of life that promotes the
member’s vision of the future. Provide safe opportunities for members to participate in
meaningful activities and experience new activities. Possess skills in positive
communication, effective problem solving, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
Represent the organization internally and externally professionally and positively. The
position reports to the Lead Direct Support Professional and Program Director
Duties include but not limited to:
- Provide training and supervision for members to increase their self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills to reside and participate successfully in the community
- Use creativity and resourcefulness to provide opportunities that promote the members vision of their future
- Provide positive encouragement through modeling, verbal prompts, and a variety of options of activities for members to stay on task and motivated during the day
- Develop valuable relationships and maintain open communication with members, families, and community partners
- Use organizational and time management skills to implement daily programs with little to no supervision
- Complete required documentation daily including member attendance, individual goal progress notes, challenges/achievements, etc.
- Provide safe transportation for members including to and from designated locations morning and afternoon, and various locations for outings during the day
- Maintain member confidentiality, privacy and dignity at all times
- Attend meetings and training sessions as indicated by management
- Adhere to policies and procedures of ADS
- Other duties as needed
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Current Article 9 certification
- Clean 39 month driving record
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
